Poker Free HD - iPad App Review
Poker Free HD is a heads up Texas Hold'em app for the iPad
- Poker Free HD is a free iPad app.
- You can choose between “Single Player” or “Two Player” mode.
- Single Player mode allows you to compete against the apps Artificial Intelligence.
- To compete in Two Players mode, you share the iPad like a chessboard.
- There is only one type of AI and it behaves very erratically and illogically.
- There is no menu screen.
- It does not support Bluetooth wireless games so you cannot play on multiple devices.
- Graphics are average and do not utilize the iPad’s high definition screen.
- Developers claim the app has been “redesigned and reprogrammed” for the iPad, yet the controls do not take advantage of the iPad’s touch screen capabilities. The game is still controlled by Check, Bet and Raise buttons similar to an online poker room.
- The ads are annoying, intrusive and can disrupt play.
Perhaps we are being a little harsh on what is a free app, but we have to judge it against its main contender, Heads Up: Holdem HD, which is also free and is vastly superior in almost every area.
