UPDATE: It is now possible to play real money poker on the iPad. iPad owners can finally play a few hands of poker at Switch Poker or Bwin Poker for iPhone. For full deails of all iPad compatible poker rooms, please check out our iPad Poker Apps section.
Playing online poker at PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker or any real money poker room is possible on the iPad, providing you already own a PC or Mac.
Apple does not currently allow real money poker apps in its’ App Store, but thankfully there is a simple and easy way to play online poker without having to jailbreak the device.
The key is to download apps like LogMeIn or iTeleport Jaadu from the App Store, that will allow you to remotely connect to your PC or Mac. Once connected, you can view your desktop, control the mouse and keyboard and run all your desktop apps, including your poker room clients.
Once you’ve connected your iPad to your desktop using any of these apps, you simply load up your favourite poker room and play as normal. Theses apps are aimed at everyday computer users so you don’t need to be a computer graduate to get them up and running.
The two apps that we would currently recommend for the iPad are iTeleport Jaadu VNC for iPhone / iPad ($24.99/ €19.99) or LogMeIn Ignition ($29.99 / €23.99). Both are available right now from the Apple App Store.
Here is a very clear and easy to understand video that explains how
these apps work. Update : We've just added 2 additional videos: Video 1 demonstrates how PokerStars can be played on the iPad and Video 2 shows how the iTeleport Jaadu app can be used to play Full Tilt Poker on the iPad.
