Merger Approval Paves Way For Party Poker iPhone App

Shareholder of bwin Interactive Entertainment and Party Gaming have approved a merger that will see allow the two online poker giants form the world’s largest listed online gambling business over the coming weeks.
The new company, which will be called bwin.party digital entertainment plc, will have a combined revenue of almost 700 millions euro, greater than the combined revenues of their 3 biggest rivals.
Bwin became the first poker room to launch a real money iPhone poker app last week, when their bwin.com poker app was approved by Apple. A Party Poker iPhone app is sure to follow once the merger completes in early in 2011.
The bwin poker app is currently only available to bwin players in Austria and the United Kingdom, although a European wide launch is expected later this year.
