German Ali Tekintamgac Wins WPT Spain In Barcelona

The Catalan capital of Barcelona played host to this years World Poker Tour Spanish Open Championship, which ran for 5 days at the Gran Casino. This latest stop on the WPT was won by Ali Tekintamgac, in only his 2nd major live tournament.
The 40 year old German poker veteran defeated Spanish TV producer and director Roberto Garcia Santiago, having entered the heads up phase with a commanding 5 to 1 chip lead. Tekintamgac walked away with WPT title, the €315,000 first prize, a Tiffany bracelet, and a seat at the $25,000 WPT Finals in Las Vegas.
This years €3,200 + €300 buy-in WPT World Championship attracted record breaking field of 326 players to Catalonia and raised a total prize pool in excess of €1,000
Tekintamgac best result before this weekends WPT Spanish Open Championship, was a 125th place finish at the EPT Monte Carlo, which earned him €15,000.
