WPT Grand Prix de Paris Won By Theo Jorgensen
By Samantha Lambert | May 17, 2010
Danish poker pro, Theo Jorgensen, came out on top of a field of 247 players to take the WPT Grand Prix de Paris title and a cheque for €633,902. Jorgensen, a native of Copenhagen, entered the final day with an almost insurmountable chip lead. He had a comfortable 10-1 chip lead going into a heads up against Antoine Amourette, which lasted only 3 hands.
Jorgensen had previously won a World Series Of Poker bracelet back in 2008 although he’s probably most famous for kicking fellow Scandanavian Gus Hansen’s ass in a boxing match last year as part of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Scandinavian Open.
This years WPT Grand Prix de Paris took place at the infamous Aviation Club de France on the Champs-Elysées. The $10,000 main event created a total prize pool of over $2.3 million.
Next stop of the World Poker Tour is the €3,500 WPT Spanish Championship, which runs from May 19th – May 23rd 2010 and takes place at Casino Barcelona in Spain.
